CARLY
Carly was born in England and grew up around horses since she was very young. She moved to the United States to attend University and is now a U.S citizen
In her early years Carly was actively involved in Pony Club, riding on both dressage and eventing teams. She rode for her National Pony Club Dressage Team and was named Pony Club member of the year. She is a rated Pony Clubber and gained many achievement badges. Carly also earned distinction as the runner-up in the Junior section of the British Talent Spotting Finals, riding for an international panel of judges and was the only junior rider to receive full marks for her riding theory on day one.
Carly worked as a young rider apprentice at Moody Dressage, England, which involved backing and helping train the young horses, as well as gaining experience with the Grand Prix horses. Her work also included every day-to-day chores, such as mucking out, property maintenance and stable theory management.
She is a former member of Great Britain's National Jnr/YR Dressage Squad and was also offered a position on the Jnr/YR Eventing Squad but turned down that appointment in favour of Dressage. She was the Scottish Junior Dressage Champion at two levels on two different horses and represented Great Britain at CDIs in Addington, Hickstead and Roosendaal, Holland. She has taken part in many championships, including both the Le Mieux National Championships and the Five Star Winter Championship. She was also long listed for the Jr/Yr European Championships.
While in the United States she has attained her USDF bronze, silver and gold medals. She's had a number of successes; winning the Markel/USEF Four-Year-Old Dressage National Championship in 2014, with the first score to ever receive in the 90's for that age group and then again winning the Five-Year-Old Championship the following year. She returned in 2017 to win the preliminary PSG and was placed 3rd overall for Developing PSG. Carly has two USDF Horse Of the Year Titles for both 2nd and 3rd level, with scores in the 80's and FEI scores up to 79%.
Carly has been a demo rider in numerous symposiums in the UK and was selected as a rider for the Carl Hester Symposium 2017 (Del Mar, CA) and 2022 (WEC)
She has trained with the likes of Hannah & Becky Moody, Ferdi Eilberg, Juan Matute, Debbie McDonald, Carl Hester.
Carly was a member of the USEF Development Dressage Program from 2018-2021 and is currently riding internationally for the United States at Grand Prix. She has competed through GP4* and had wins at CDIW's, with GP, GPS & GPFS national scores ranging from 74%-79%. She was also a Dressage Foundation recipient of the $25000 Anne Barlow Ramsay Grant.
Carly's focus and ambition is to keep producing young horses to Grand Prix, in the hopes that they will be potential team contenders.
She is currently building a string of up-and-coming horses and is always on the lookout to add to the roster. She resides in Fulshear, Texas.
